Ek Thal is a food-sharing platform built to
tackle two major issues: food waste and hunger. In Nepal, large amounts of edible
food are thrown away every day especially during festivals and social gatherings
while many people still struggle to afford a proper meal.
With Ek Thal, anyone who has surplus food can quickly
post details such as the type of food, quantity, freshness, and location.
People in need daily wage workers, students, or NGOs can easily browse nearby listings and
claim the food before it spoils.
Inspired by Nepal’s culture of generosity and hospitality,
Ek Thal is a movement to reduce food waste, promote sustainability, and spread
kindness. By connecting those who have extra to those who need it, we aim to turn
surplus into smiles.
